1. What are the
members like?
TABSC principle
members are people from Belize, irrespective of their
economic, educational background, or interests. It is the HOPE
that
this club will operate on the premise that we are ALL brothers and
sisters under the auspices of God and as taught to us by our
forefathers. In so doing, ALL members who care about our Belizean
Heritage and Culture will network and socialize within that spirit of
brotherly love. We will embrace each other here in the Phoenix area,
and we will reach out to other Belizeans throughout the world as a
family that seeks the best interest of its members and our beloved
Belize. This will be our outlet for those times when we as a
Belizean
people wish to encircle ourselves with friends and loved ones of like
minds, and those who will enjoy and promote the posterity of our
Belizean lifestyle and culture.
2. How old are
the members?
There are NO age
restrictions. Our members are welcome at whatever
their age, providing each one reasonably comports him or herself, and
treat others with respect, civility and love. It is expected that
the
majority of members will be between 20 and 75 years old, with the
greatest concentration being between 30s and 50s. No limitations are
placed on the age as long as the individual is capable of comporting
him or herself graciously and responsibly.
3. Is it just
for singles?
There
are no restrictions to the marital status of our members. We
welcome ALL who wish to embrace us as brothers and sisters.
4. What if my
schedule is unpredictable?
There is NO
required number of times to enjoin oneself to those in this
club. However, we HOPE that our desire to socialize and our
activities
will facilitate and promote positive scheduled attendance. We
will
embrace each member as if it is the first or the last time we will see
each other, because none of us have control of nor lease on what the
future entails for each. We HOPE that ALL will feel comfortable
and
subsequently extend the same courtesies of advising whether he or she
will attend an event; especially where special preparations are being
made that will have an economic impact on the club and other club
members.
5. How much is
it?
At this time,
there is no fee to join the club. However, planned events
may require funding, and members who agree to an event are expected to
assist in sharing the economic cost. In the event there are fund
raising activities, the club members will be expected to support us
wholeheartedly, economically, and socially.
6. How long do
people join for?
Membership will
remain open for as long as each member determines he or she wants to
participate as a member of the club.
7. How do I
know if I’d fit in with the club?
Our club boasts a
membership of caring individuals. Hence, it is
expected that no matter how shy and/or social you are, you will be able
to connect simply because of your special interest in our common goals
and activities that promote our cultural heritage. Whatever your
personality type, whatever your interests beyond being a Belizean or a
LOVER of Belize, you’ll find a connection with others in the club. And,
since the decision making is shared by a unanimous vote of our club
members, the activities that pique our interests, and our pursuit for
assisting our community in whichever way we can, will certify peace and
harmony in promoting our similar interests.
8. What if I
am shy around strangers?
We are aware that
some new members may question or fear acceptance of
fellow club members. Members are assured that it is the expressed
desire of each to embrace the next in the context of a loving and
growing family. Whereby, each new member is assured inclusion from the
first day he or she participates in the club.
9. Will I make
friends to socialize with outside of the club?
Friendships that
emanate out of participation in this social circle can
take on a life of their own outside the confines of the club.
This is
because there are NO restrictions on members who wish to associate with
each other outside of this social club. We expect that this will occur
naturally, as each member shares greater common interests outside the
circle of new friendships formed within this social circle.
10. Is this a
Clique?
In essence the
entire membership is a Clique within the context of us
being drawn together because of the love of our Belizean culture and
because we all reside outside of Belize, in this case, part of the
Arizona Community. This club is formed to promote, enjoy, share,
and
embrace each other as Belizeans and lovers of the same. It also
ensures that the club’s activities are ethical, educational, beneficial
to ALL members and the communities in which we live and
those we aspire to serve.
